Why LGBTQIA Affirming Christianity Makes Sense

A fair number of people, both inside and outside of the various versions of the Christian church, believe that God condemns those who are queer.

LOTM is not one of those congregations. Instead, we affirm the various sexualities and gender expressions contained in the LGBTQIA community, and we hope to foster conversation about why it makes sense to be queer affirming Christians.

To support that conversation, we have invited pastor, author, and speaker, Colby Martin, to join us on Sunday, August 24 for worship and a discussion afterward. He knows what it means to be against affirming queer Christians because he originally was, but has shifted his views through careful study, conversation, and inward searching. Please come hear him speak at 10:30 am on August 24. And if you're into worship, please join us beginning at 9 am that morning. If you want to attend, please click the button below to register so we have an idea of how many people to expect (it's free).

Likewise, as a lead-up to Pastor Colby being with us, we will read and discuss his book, Unclobber: Rethinking Our Misuse of the Bible after worship on Sunday, August 10 at 10:30 am. We invite you to pick up a copy of the book to read before the discussion. There are copies available at Next Page bookstore in Frisco or you can order it at bookshop.org.
